Dignity And Pride

I looked at your face and could see that it was moist

I could hear it in your voice

you’ve got to make a difficult choice.

When I looked into your swollen sad eyes

I could tell once again you had cried

you had to decide

between him or your dignity and pride.

His behavior you could no longer accept

 nor let it ride

and how you felt you could no longer hide

because the love you had for him

was not gone deep down inside.

For him you still had true feelings

but with all his nuisance

you could not keep on dealing.

You hoped by now he would have changed

but all he did was continue to play with your brain

things stayed the same ya’ll made no gains

and to work it out many times you tried

but the truth wasn’t in him nothing but lies.

So you had to make a choice you had to choose

would you continue to put up

with his emotional abuse

your dignity and pride lose

stay and obey what he has to say

and let him have his selfish way

let him continue to lie

and with your emotions play

because of the love for him you have inside.

Or will you finally realize

after you’ve dried the moist from your eyes

that if the both of you were truly meant to be

there would be no question’s

about your pride or your dignity?

So if you feel like it again Boo go ahead and cry

but after you’ve cried

dry your swollen sad eyes

then get up and move on with your life

move on with your dignity and pride

despite the feelings you for him deep down inside.
